Some partsof the saddles are stitched on heavy duty sewing machines designed for sewing leather.

Saddles are built around rawhide-covered wood trees. The tree style and size used for each saddle depends on the type of saddle, size of horn, cantle, and saddle size. We use top quality trees.

Omar is dedicated as saddle parts are cut from top-grain cowhide and readied for the next step. Also, custom specialty leathers are also used when the customer wants a unique saddle.

The pommel is carefully tooled in place with whatever design you have chosen.
"At Jeys Saddlery, each and every saddle is made by hand,
by skilled craftsmen and inspected by me."

Meet Todd Jeys and Jeys Saddlery
Todd Jeys was not born in Texas, but he noved here as
soon as he could. That happened to be about November of 1992, when
he moved to San Angelo to work in his uncle's saddle shop. For about
11 years, he built his talent and knowledge in the dying art of custom
saddle making.
In 2002, he met his future wife Crystal, and they began
to plan a life together. Soon after their marriage, they decided to
make a rather risky decision. Todd was going to take his wealth of experience
and head out on his own. Jeys Saddlery opened in April 2004, in the
garage of the Jeys home.
Today, Todd & Crystal have a shop on North Chadbourne
Street, where Todd builds the saddles, Crystal does the office work,
while Alyssa, Bodey and even Jack help out, too. As the team at Jeys Saddlery
has learned, trust in God and hard work have pay off.

Jeys Saddlery is definitely a family owned and run business.

Corby has 8 years of experience with leather and enjoys the being able to bring a piece of leather to life with his designs.

Allyssa spends time frequently in her dad's shop learning the
skills to make leather products.
Skirts, fenders, and other flat pieces are hand tooled before assembly.

Panfilo stedily works as each saddle is assembled and finished by hand.

As seen in summer of 2010 on

"If you are in San Angelo make it a point to drop by the shop and check it out."
